Unable to import images from my digital camera to my PC

when I plug in in my digital camera it appears in "computer" but when i click on it, there are no folders. usually it says "fixed storage" and "Removable Storage" but they are not there.... this is really frustrating me ive tried updating drivers ive tried uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them but still not luck. i know its not a problem with the camera because when i plug it into my gf's laptop, its fine. so I know its a problem with my computer.

any ideas anyone?

My digital camera is a Kodak M580

It has very little options on the camera, as far as I can see there is no USB storage settings etc.

If anyone can help it would be most appreciated.

update: just noticed the same is happening to my phone (Sony Xperia S).

You can try to uninstall the USB devices from the device manager and let it re-install when you reboot the pc

As I said, I have already uninstalled the drivers and let them reinstal.
