Bridge Connections??

Ok, I have somewhat of a problem. I have a computer (desktop) with 2 ethernet cards. I also have a laptop too with an ethernet card. I want to have my laptop and my desktop be online at the same time, and be hard wired. I want to share my ethernet cards so then it will enable my laptop to be online. I have tried everything and NOTHING has worked. Does anyone have any idea how to do this?

have you bridged the connections and run a crossover cable from the computer to the laptop. that should work, I had to do the same thing before I went and bought a router which was much easier lol.
