I know the header doesnt look like it should be in this topic, but im pretty sure this is the right place!

Ok, so i have this really good chinese movie, subtitles included. It may be a bootleg, may not, but that doesnt matter. i bought it for 14 something while i was in china, and watched it soon after. i loved it, so now i want to put it onto my portable media center, and watch it on my flight to china, again!

But, when i ripped the dvd to my computer, the subtitles became different files, an .idx, and a .sub. i wasnt surprised, i knew it was going to happen. but i want to know if theres a program (or just a way) to combine the subtitles into the file itself. so that way, i can just drag and drop the .avi file (i think its avi) into my PMC (portable media center) and then im ready to roll!!!

So someone please tell me how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated!
