Difficulty using Windows formatted External HD with Mac

Even now and then I like to watch movies from my NFTS formatted HD on my Mac, But it does not recognize it. I know it's because Mac uses the FAT32. I downloaded some trial ware software called Paragon and it allowed me to use the HD on my Mac. Is there any freeware programs that will allow me to use NFTS HDs on my Mac? I tried disk utility and it won't let me change the HDs partitions type without formatting the HD.

You should be abel to read from it without issues. Writing to it is what Mac doesn't support unless you get Paragon or Tuxera.

Well it worked before. As you say writing would be the issue. But I formatted once to work with my Mac and then formatted it back and now it says "no image found"
