pick up another 512 stick. i bet you could find one for around $30 that would be plenty of ram for xp.

there pretty basic options. i would just pop it in and give it a look. shouldn't be too hard to figure out. you can always just do a search in google also and find very easy instructions. this is what they have kids doing in schools these days? i'm voting down the next issue where schools...

i would just disable some of the windows programs in services.msc save some ram there and msconfig some too. plus ram is so dirt cheap these days i would just pick up another stick if you have a open slot.

2.8 is best for me. ever since aol got a hold of winamp they have gone down hill and fast.

go to run in the start menu and type "msconfig" then go to startup tab and it will show you the programs starting when windows starts. i don't like too many programs starting on mine so i uncheck alot of them.

if you have the pic already and want to resize i always use irfanview.com very small download and very fast.

does it give you a error message? maybe wipe the drive clean 1st and then try again.
