Hey mate I had the same problem as you, I managed to get the HS attactched properly in the end though, you just have to use a LOT of force to get all 4 pins to click through the mobo

Certainly the X1800XT, I just got one and it can run everything at max settings including F.E.A.R., BF2, Half Life 2 etc. Also check Tomshardware for the VGA charts

If you have absolutely no intention of OCing then the 4600+ will be better because 200mhz makes a bigger difference than the bigger cache
