If you have XP with SP-2 then that firewall is more than sufficient. It outperforms many of the "pro" firewalls out there. It's small and unobtrusive and does its job. I like it though I am way in the minority at this forum.
Open WMP >> Options >> Performance >> either move the slider for "video acceleration" to some or none >> apply and OK your way out.
Restart WMP and all should be fine. :)
Hahaha, I take that back fellas. :p He has full proggies with cracks and crap on it with a couple of ftp links to get at about 100 or so applications all linked to some Arabic website.

I was thinking along the lines of java, flash, shockwave, quicktime, windows media, real player etc. I thought perhaps you were having those kind of problems.
