Please create a directory on your C:\ drive called C:\HJT, download and unzip HijackThis into that directory. Run the program from that directory from now on.
STEPS For Creating Folder
1. Please go to My Computer, open your C:\ drive, Select: New >> Folder and name the folder HJT.
2. Download...
You can't rename a drive that is running an o/s on it. So D stays D. The only way out of this is to do what I did...unplug that drives until you are formatted, forcing your computer to make that drive your C drive.
I have a SATA with an O/S on it so it's still unplugged but I have a 30 gig and...

The only reason I didn't suggest those two...Spysweeper isn't free (altho you do get a trial), and he didn't mention which o/s was involved and Microsoft Anti-Spyware is only for 2000 and XP. Liz
