I have never messed with the bios in the e-machine so they should be at the default setting.
Tried putting original modem card in with same results.
Yes I grounded myself before removing the card.
Not sure which forum this fits in; however, I just recently upgraded my psu so I figured this one would do. Now my problem is on an old e-machine. I turn it on and it automatically goes to a black screen that says it could not boot successfully which may be due to new hardware. If your...
Well it doesn't shut off while cooling down. The other thing I noticed is that when the system shuts down the Hard disk drive access indicator light stays on along with the PSU but everything else shuts down. So far I have just been turning the psu switch off when done with the computer. I've...
Guess I should have added that with the original PSU it started doing the same thing when it used to shut off; plus it was telling my I did not have enough power for a usb connection even though there were no usb components plugged in. I took the original 250W PSU out and noticed a capacitor...
Well my PSU in my wifes' e-machine died. I bought a new one and put it in and everything is working fine except when you turn off the system everything shuts down put the PSU remains on with the fan running. Anyone experience this before or has any suggestions.
Thanks
Tried other slots with no success. I get 1 long and 2 short beeps on start up. Which is a monitor or display card error. However, everything works perfectly with the modem not installed.
Not yet. The fan from the vid card blocks one slot and I have USB/firewire taking up my other one. Think I will move usb/firewire port up one and try that one.
Trying to install a pci 56k modem in my system in my sig. I have tried a cheap best data modem and a diamond Supramax LE. Both are brand new and I get the same problem with both. I plug them into my pci slot and turn on the computer. I get 1 long beep on start up and my monitor never comes...
Don't live in the country. Last 4 years I did and could not get high speed. Now it is the fact that I'm gone quit a bit because of work so not really around to benefit from the cost until later this year. I hear Guild Wars might run ok so I might try that. Thanks for the help.
Anyone played it on dial-up? Is it playable and hows the lag? Trying to find out before buying because high speed is not coming in the near future.
Thanks
I agree with Ridyln that you can do better. I paid $700.00 recently for the computer in my sig including floppy and asus cd burner which was roughly $35.00 of the $700. Take the extra 35 and get a 6800gs. Although, the x1600pro is not bad either.
Problem solved. Went to gigabyte website and downloaded needed drivers onto a floppy. Now officially up and running with 2nd partition formatting now. This proves if I can build a successful computer anyone can.
Thanks for the help.
The only thing that should be plugged into the HD is the SATA cable and the SATA power cord correct? Also since I have a SATA HD and only one other cd drive does it matter on the master/slave switch for either?
