I'm running windows vista. I did some optimization stuff a few days ago, but everything ran fine. Even restarted a few times and still good. But I put a second hard drive in today, and when I boot back up I got the error "Task Scheduler Engine Stopped Working". Haven't been able to find any...
How does that work then if I have the drivers on a seperate disk? I mean the drivers should be installed right now cause I'm running xp. But I want to reinstall xp and it doesn't prompt me for drivers ever.
I'm trying to reformat my folks PC, the windows xp setup loads, but then when I go to reformat it doesn't see a hard disk. I go into the bios and the hard disk is there. The drive is SATA if that matters. Any ideas to get this to work?
Hi, I'm currently running Windows Vista and I was trying to install XP through Virtual PC. How ever I can't get my internet to work in the virtual pc. I made sure my Virtual PC Service is checked for my network cards. Any other ideas?
First off I'm using windows vista and yesterday it was doing an update and it had an update for creative audio driver. I don't have creative audio hardware in my laptop. Its just the default onboard.
So I tried redownloading my dell drivers and they installed fine. However my tray icon shows...
Yeah there was a burn mark on the inside of the external case. I swapped out the external case already. I also looked into hard drive recovery services... but at a lofty $1600.00 , I think I'll pass.
I suppose every thing I have is some what replacable, but replacing it is the hard part. Just...
I had a 320GB Seagate baracuda in a Nexstar enclosure. I went to plug it in and i noticed the LED was flickering weird so I turned it off instantly. I noticed a burned smell and opened it up and sure enough. Smoke came out.
There was a small burn where the HDD power cable sits. I was hoping...
The burner reads all types of DVD's except -RAM. I'm using DVD-R's. Pretty standard. My burning program (ImgBurn) sees the drive as it should, it just won't burn. But I think windows installed drivers for just a CD-ROM. Any idea where I can find optical drivers to over write them manually?
I have an external optical drive case so I put a new DVD burner into it this weekend. It reads discs with data on them fine. But it doesn't see blank discs. I tried both the firewire and USB and still got nothing. Any ideas what might be happening?
My CD/DVD combo drive is suddenly not under "My Computer". But when I go under system properties it shows a CD drive but there's a yellow triangle over it. When I update driver it says the best one is installed. Its a dell and they didn't offer any optical drivers that I saw. Any ideas??
Yeah I checked all that before. I have my screen saver set to 1 min just to check and get nothing. The display is set to shut off after 5 and still nothing.
My screen saver doesn't come on and my display won't shut off either on my laptop. Kinda frustrating. Any one have any ideas what does this or how to fix it?
Past few days vista won't install my hardware drivers. My pen drives don't work, and I have a PS2 to USB keyboard adapter that won't work. These things don't have sites where I can download drivers. Is it just that vista's driver support is that bad? My pen drive use to work which is why I...
