Umm dude look at the rig in my signature. I am not trying to save money or get a mediocre computer here, I am trying to upgrade my hd's for the fastest performance possible (within reason and avoiding scsi 15,000rpm stuff).
As I had already said I already have a 74gig 10,000rpm raptor but I...
Hello everyone,
Haven't been here in a while, usually due to the fact that I come to research components just before spending WAYYYY too much money and then I go hide in a cave for a few months before sneaking back out.
Anyway... one of my hd's died and so I have been left with just a single...
Hey everyone,
I used these forums to put together my comp a while back and have since upgraded parts etc.
I have been having a problem recently that hopefully you guys can help with. My computer will simply shut off for no reason. It has NEVER actually happened while I was using it, it only...
I have considered switching to liquid cooling, however I have never done it before and I don't want to go risking a $3,000 system with a first attempt at water :(
Currently I have a TT Big Typhoon and AS5 that I have been using on my AMD rig.
As far as the basics being the same... I am not...
Well I am looking at spending a crapload on a new upgrade to an E6600 as well as various other stuff and I need info on how to OC an Intel.
All my experience has been with AMD so any tips, tricks, links, stickies that you highly recommend please pass them along. I would prefer to know what I...
The more memory you have the looser the Ram timings would be. The main thing that you probably heard about is either when you no longer run in dual channel or if you run in 2T instead of 1T.
Basically you want to have 2Gb of ram (2x1gb) or if you really want 4Gb then go with (2x2gb) but that...
I think he just said that he made the order so we can stop talking about what parts to get. Now you can hop over into the OCing section of the forum and read up on everything involved in it.
Basically yes the guy on the Phone was full of crap. OCing if done correctly is completely safe...
I would think you are good to go on that. Too bad they haven't found a way to make laptops as easily upgradeable as desktops. I hope you have one heck of a beefy battery for that bad boy lol
Oh and about the core duo thing, both your cores are running at 2Ghz but what that really means is you...
I hadn't, I guess I am biased and ignore that type of thing since I already have na 8800 GTX and am considering getting a 2nd one for SLI :D My bad, ignore my #1
EDIT: I prefer to roast marshmellows on the burning edge of technology... and then rant in disgust when prices drop $xxx a...
Just do a search for each game you are interested in. CS 1.6 for example I prefer using the command "Net_Graph 3" which you type into your console so that it displays your FPS and some other information in your game.
the 2Ghz is the speed at which your chip is running. For a laptop that stuff looks nice, how much does it cost? I don't really know those 2 programs but I would assume they should work with that comp.
First off let me say a couple things that seem to be wrong with what you were already planning on.
1) I think you are confused on the vidcard. As far as I know there isn't a GeForce 8600. You are probably either thinking of the GeForce 7600GT or something similar or perhaps the 8800GTS. If...
