Best driver for a 7800 gt graphics card?

Forceware 81.98 will work just fine:- http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp

    F.e.a.r.

Download the SDK from here:- http://www.fileplanet.com/158816/150000/fileinfo/F.E.A.R.-Modification-Tools In there you will find the entire audio content for the game.

    T & L

Hardware Transform & Lighting. This is basically the defacto of using a modern GPU to shade polygons (the prime function of a modern GPU). I think just about any 3D video board since GeForce 256 will support this feature... So chances are you indeed have it.

    Unreal Engine 3

    Thus, a BETA.

    Unreal Engine 3

Last thing I heard on the grapevine about the whole "OpenGL limitations in Vista" hoopla was that it only applys to the given OGL app running in Windowed mode, whereas in fullscreen mode normal performance will apply. Seeing as 90% of us run our games in fs, I can't see this as a problem...

    SLI/Crossfire: The cold hard truth

Quickest one I could find:- http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/nvidia_geforce_7800_gtx_512mb/page17.asp ------------------------------ To add a general comment to this thread (and in a seemingly contradictory manner to the general opinion here):- It's worth bearing in mind that a...

    2X SLI Video Cards

If you care to elaborate on what you mean, I'll take you with some seriousness. You know I've learned a lot from the folk on these forums in the past and also had some good 2-way discussions regarding the world of computers/games in general, and overall I must say I do enjoy posting here. But...

    2X SLI Video Cards

Dual 256MB frame buffers are not to be compared with a single 512MB solution (that is, 512MB's of VRAM dedicated to a single GPU), likewise dual 512MB buffers are not to be assumed as if they were the same as having a single '1024MB video card'. What SLI (and Crossfire) does do is essentially...

why is this card so FReakin expensive?!

Actually I know Quadro owners who apparently have no problems with using their cards to run games on, just as well as their desktop counterparts; the Quadro FX in question is based off the NV40/GeForce 6 series GPU.

    7800GTX 512mb (Im lost)

Yes there is, presumably prior to the dual-cores (some retailers are allegedly said to already stock single-core 512MB 7800GTX's).

64 bit AMD vs 64 bit Intel

The Athlon 64 is the way to go for gaming performance. It has long been the case that AMD CPU's have ruled the roost when it comes to raw performance in games. If you can afford it, wait for the upcoming FX-60 model. Dual-core, 2.8GHz, 2x1MB L2 cache

    7800GTX 512mb (Im lost)

Oh I know... But the problem is driver and application support. SLI (as in 2 regular single-cored cards) is only just breaking into the mainstream user base as it is, a 4-8 GPU configuration will no doubt be buggy as hell initially. Not to mention costing an arm and a leg.

    7800GTX 512mb (Im lost)

Yes that is the dual-core 7800GT/GTX series, i.e with 2 GPU'S (256MB frame buffer per GPU, 512MB total). Due for release from later this year to ealy next year.

What is the best gaming laptop??

I'd sooner spend that kind of money on a more rewarding gaming PC, but that's just me.

QUAKE4 or FEAR in signle player

You were no doubt one of those people that didn't like any or all of the previous installments, no? Q4 doesn't feel like Doom 3 or anything remotely like it, it's lightyears ahead of the game in it's pace and continuity. Before you say it, don't be tempted to use the (overused) words 'linear...
