    Simple network

Hello there, I have already done this, by giving them all the name HUB, however, from here on out, i'm a bit confused as to how I should proceed? I've had a look at the file sharing and network malarky in Vista, and enabled 'network discovery' and 'file sharing', but XP doesn't have such an...

    Simple network

Hi there Tech Forums, I've not posted on here in a fair time. However, I return with a new problem for you wonderful people to help me with. I'm trying to set up what I can only assume would be a network, but on a more simple basis. All I want this network to do is allow three computers to...

An easy question for such experts...

Another question I have is, does anyone have any experience with eVGA RMA / Step Up support? Do they proccess your replacement quickly, or does it take weeks? Cheers.

Yes, I have all three of my SATA drives recognised as 'removable devices' as well. Only just noticed it after you posted this thread.

Question for people familiar with RMA's

They may well offer a refund. In which case, they would refund you for how much you originally payed for the card (you may well stand to gain here).

An easy question for such experts...

Hey all, I have an unusual question to ask 'this time around'. The thing is, I recently placed an order for an 8800 GTS 320mb from eVGA, and then was delighted to hear they offer a 'step up' program (allowing a graphics card upgrade to the latest model simply by sending your current VGA back and...

    Easy PCI-E question

PCI-E is just a newer technology allowing for faster speeds than AGP. Using a single PCI-E 6800 GT isn't actually noticably faster than an AGP 6800 GT, but it does allow you to upgrade to newer cards as and when your budget allows (that was simply an example).

however, if your motherboard does not natively support SATA, then thats a sure sign its time for an upgrade!

    Random Restarting

sounds like a dodgy bit of software to me, look into any available updates. As its clear that Windows is 'fully shutting down' (hence the Windows sound), and not just crashing out. Trundle through the Control Panel, and PowerCinema to try and find the culprit. Power saving options and such like...

    Random Restarting

Jesus, you should be pretty much set then. I cant understand why the CPU temperature would be so high, we are talking about Celsius here are we not?

    Random Restarting

Yarse, those temps sound far too high when you're essentially 'idle'. I suggest you buy a new CPU cooler (Zalman are the 'main boyz' when it comes to these) for around £15 - £20 ($30 - $40), along with some Arctic Silver thermal paste. Install the new cooler and your temps should drop, so...

    Random Restarting

Could it be a heat issue? Tell us what your CPU temperature is. Also, whats your power-supply, as that card requires a hefty amount of juice. This however would cause instability, etc more than Windows shutting down (correctly)

    Aspect ratios

Right, the specs for my monitor are shown below. Does this SXGA malarky mean I should run all the games / programs I can in 5;4 over 4;3 then? (what is SXGA anyways?). I appologise if my questions are answered in that link, but it wont load for me. 17 Inch Multiscanning LCD Monitor - 17 Inch...

    Aspect ratios

Hey all, I've just been playing the game Armed Assault, and was fiddling with the options and noticed that in the resolution settings there were many more aspect ratios than is usual. I'm used to seeing 4;3, and 16;9 and thats about it. However, in the options of ArmA there is a 5;4, and...

    R600 prototype photos

wouldnt come close to fitting in my case, the hard drives would block it. The 8800GTX would only JUST fit. I always thought my case was pretty big as well.
