    Realtek Hi definition audio problem

Yeah, sound effect manager seems allright with the jack settings, but still no sound. I used cpu-z to get the model number, unfortunately it seems unable to narrow down whichever model it is, same with speccy so looks like I'm diving under the table!

Thanks for the quick reply... Only option I have in the control panel is 'realtek HD sound effect manager'. As for the exact foxconn model...I am unsure (the website lists loads), is there any software that could identify this? (failing that i'll rip the side off and get in with a torch but...

    Realtek Hi definition audio problem

Got an issue here with the onboard realtek high def audio chip on my motherboard. Firstly I'm not 100% sure this is the right section, as I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem, driver problem windows problem or multimedia problem. I've a feeling it's more with windows but we'll see. Anyway I...

the mysql server IS on :) I can connect to it remotely and add databases and such using a front end app like heidisql but php refuses to have any truck with mysql. My domain controller had a nasty hardware failure, and since It's a home computer and the domain was just a non-formal/educational project of mine I've decided not to bother repairing it, however I have some issues with sage and the loss of the domain controller, since it now wants people to...

    cpu or mobo gone bad?

Physically check the capacitors on your board - if they are swollen or leaking they will no doubt cause symptoms similar to yours - and it can usually save time since you can sometimes visibily see the damage rather than have to repalce components until you find the culprit.
