    Routing w/ Windows XP?

Wow, talk about being hostile when you're being corrected. There was no lecture, your reply was just inaccurate. There was definitely no IP addressing conflict, not everyone uses a class C subnet, and DNS had nothing to do with my question. That's kind of like a user coming on to ask how to...

    Routing w/ Windows XP?

...What? No. I think you misunderstood me COMPLETELY. I have two network cards in my PC, both of which are connected to my router. My XBOX is also connected to the router. XBOX IP - 192.168.1.5 PC NIC#1 (internet) - 192.168.1.2 PC NIC#2 (dedicated for XBOX) - 192.168.1.22 My PC NIC#1 is the...

    Routing w/ Windows XP?

I have two NICs... Both are plugged directly into my router (I'm too lazy to change the cable to a crossover, you'll understand soon)... One NIC is used for internet, and the other is dedicated to my XBOX for media streaming. I have no problem streaming media to the XBOX from the PC since the...

In that case, uninstall the adapter's drivers completely and install the newest drivers direct from D-Link's website...

    What!!!????

Haha, D-Link something wireless router. Do you have a model number? Do you have any other PCs connected to the router using an actual network cable? If so, do they have the same issues? More than likely the connection is just being interrupted by another signal - cordless phones, RF...

My Dell x30 has no bluetooth, only one SDIO slot, and not enough internal memory to hold all of the software & maps... so basically I'm looking at whatever alternative I can get. After trying to figure out a suitable to way to allow my Dell X30 to use the SDIO card as well as a GPS device, I...

    A word

Clustered servers are for distributing CPU load across multiple PCs, not so much for redundancy... Mirroring... Could be any number of terms that he's looking for.

    A word

Redundancy? Or are you looking for a word that describes it specific to the websites?

dwl 122 tx rate drops to 1mbps

My rule of thumb is to turn ANY networking services off if they're not needed... Even stupid little things, but the less services that are running, the more secure your network has the potential to be. Unless you're sharing files between computers, I'd suggest turning it off.

aim don't work with cable internet

So let me understand this properly... When you connect your computer directly to the modem, your internet works fine, but when you use the router between the modem and your computer it slows down and aim won't work.. is that correct?

dwl 122 tx rate drops to 1mbps

Hmm... Well, 60% signal strength and 60% quality are different from the actual transfer speed... I've noticed that no matter what the connection quality is, the transfer speed always deteriorates as you get further away from the access point. It really depends on the appliances between the...

    ISP Restricts access!

    1) Your IP address connects to a proxy website which seems completely legit to your ISP. You type in a web address and click submit, but the proxy webserver that you browsed to fetches the pages and displays them to you. IE: Say www.google.com is banned. You would then go to www.proxyserver.com...

How do I hide my IP?

Well, what exactly do you want your IP hidden from? If your answer is everything, well... unfortunately you're pretty much out of luck. The only way is to use anonymous proxies on the internet which will assign you a different IP address, but even then THEY still have your IP address. As soon as...

web pages wont load - HELP

Check to make sure under Tools/Internet Options/Connections/Lan Settings Make sure the "Use a proxy server..." is unchecked. Generally I have all boxes in that dialog unchecked, but just for the time being make sure that there is no proxy server defined.
