its been a while since i last built a computer. My last build was when AMD 64 4000 was amazing and the 6800GT was kicking *** and taking names. I am asking for a suggestion on an AM2 motherboard/processor combination that doesnt exceed 300 dollars. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have some spare ram that is DDR 2 5300 memory and I was wondering if i could use that on a 939 socket mb? I think the motherboard will just automatically slow the ram down to the speed it can handle but I am not sure if DDR 2 is compatible? It is an older MSI 939 socket board.

So with Windows Vista coming so soon I was wondering if the rumors about it needing 2 gigs were real? I mean I have corsair XMS 2 x 512 and its pretty decent quality ram, do you think I really need 2 GB?

hi, I am trying to make an external hard drive with a Western Digital 120 GB EIDE hard drive. Is there any sort of free software I can use to erase my hard drive and also if a regular IDE to Usb connection will work with EIDE?

A 6800 GT would definitely be able to handle that and right now they are going for around 270.00. A 6600 GT probably would be able to handle it as well but I would try to get a 6800GT
