    Nvidia recommendation.

Right on! I appreciate the input. There is a decent list of 5870 cards on that link you sent me though. Which would you recommend? Does the rest of my setup seem alright?

    Nvidia recommendation.

Hey everyone. I'm looking to build a new desktop PC, considering all I have right now is my Vaio laptop. So far I've figured everything out except for the video card. Now, my system is based around the Intel i7 CPU, and I've been told that Nvidia works best with Intel. With that in mind...

    Math???

I'm working towards my Ph.D. in EECS (Electrical Engineering & Computer Science), and it seems as if the math classes needed just for a bachelors are up in the extremely high level calculus stages. Just at the CC (community college) I'm at now, we have to get through Calc 4, and I know there...

    7950GX2's x 4 :-P

...Lol, by then that kind of a setup would be so outdated that no one will know what it is. By then everything will be completely different. I can't wait...it's going to be kickass.

    Quiet Cases

I just got my Antec P180 a few days ago and it kicks ***. Every time I walk in the room I have to walk up to my computer and bend down to tell if it's on or off. :D

    RAM/HD/CPU for $500

Haha I'll bet you can. Buuuuut I completely changed things and spent my money on a widescreen LCD monitor. I'm pretty sure I'll be much more happy this way. :D

    RAM/HD/CPU for $500

Sweet, thanks for the suggestions. I guess one of the major questions I have is will my system perform better with the 3200+ CPU and $500 of RAM/HD's or with $500 of a combination of all 3, which would probably mean adding a CPU that's better than the RAM/HD's and having not-so-high qual...

    RAM/HD/CPU for $500

I would appreciate it if you guys could pick out the best combination of RAM/HD's/CPU (AMD 939) with a budget of $550 max and $500 min. I'm looking for the best gaming experience with that amount of money on those 3 parts. Good luck and many thanks to anyone willing to help out. :D Note: Just...

Nice list, but that goes over the budget...the video card would still work though.

Build me a new gaming PC, lol

Lol that's understandable...I'm the same way. But this guy is on a budget lol. I'm too lazy to change up the list for RAM...just stick some DDR400 Corsair Performance RAM in there and lower something else... EDIT: Just to add something, if you intend to multitask while gaming then definitely...

Build me a new gaming PC, lol

Oh shoot , I did forget the RAM..I knew I was forgetting something. As far as dual core goes...it's not really needed at all unless you're doing a lot of multitasking. Single core can perform very well if you're doing gaming. That CPU would do more than fine.
